its science its amazing a teaspoon of soil has more life in it than all of our human population and cellulose is actually a sugar that is in every way like our digestable sugars sucrose etc but the difference is that the sugars we consume are all Alpha bonded at the Dglucose unit and we have enzymes Amylase that break those suguars down by cleaving the Alpha bond but we don't have enzymes that cleave the Beta bond, so we can't digest wood so everytime u eat vegies, a lot of the beta bonds aren't broken, and they provide the fibre that helps ur crap form a nice solid shape
